Hello and welcome to my blog where I will share some personal thoughts and experiences around IT Governance related matters.
My name is Gaute Brynildsen and I live in Oslo, Norway with my wife and son. I’ve been quite active in an organization called ISACA and was on the ISACA Norway chapter board for seven years, where I learned a lot about the extensive toolkit available from ISACA. I will probably link to a lot of their material since I find it very useful and think that more people should know it exists. Through ISACA I’ve also met a lot of knowledgeable people who really care about the IT governance field, and through that gotten a lot of perspectives and good discussions about what works and what doesn’t work in different situations. Now I’ve also started to involve myself with the Cloud Security Alliance, and from the short time there so far I’ve already met some interesting people and had some useful discussions.
I currently hold active certifications like, ISACA Certified Informationsystems Auditor (CISA), ISACA Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), GIAC Systems and Network auditor (GSNA) and the IIA Certified Internal auditor (CIA). I also have en MBA degree from Edinburgh Business School.
I’ve also worked 8 years with operational audit in a large bank, with specific focus on IT audit. I’ve also worked as an IT manager in a smaller company and several years with support at a larger IT distributor. This of course adds to my knowledge base, but the topics I write about here are personal views and are not related to my work place or situations there.
